Car Accident Claim

Here at Savas and Savage Solicitors Ltd we are personal injury specialists. We have many Solicitors working with us who have dedicated their professional careers to helping victims of road traffic accidents to make a car accident claim

If you have been involved in a road traffic accident that wasn’t your fault, whether you were driving one of the vehicles involved or whether you were a passenger we may be able to help you obtain compensation for the injuries and other losses that you have suffered as a result.

What can I claim for?

These can include, amongst other things, insurance excess, repair costs, lost earnings, prescription charges, the cost of damaged clothing or belongings, taxi fares etc. We will do everything we can to recover as much as possible for your injury and for anything that you have lost or have had to pay for as a direct result of the accident.

How do I repair my vehicle?

If you were the driver involved in an accident (or even if someone else was driving your car but you weren’t involved in the accident directly) then we may be able to arrange a hire car for you and repairs to your vehicle. Alternatively you might prefer for us to recover the cost of the repairs for you, so that you can have your vehicle repaired at your preferred garage and at a time that is convenient for you.

I’m a taxi driver and need my vehicle for work, what should I do?

There are members of our team who specialise in helping taxi drivers that have been involved in accidents. Again, we can normally arrange a hire car for you whilst your vehicle is being repaired so that you aren’t forced to stop working after an accident.

How will I get help with my injuries?

If you have been injured in the accident, your car might be the last thing on your mind. As part of your claim we will instruct a medical expert (often a consultant or orthopaedic expert) to examine you and produce a report detailing the injuries that you have sustained in the accident. All of the doctors that we use are friendly and professional and your examination isn’t anything that you need to worry about. The doctor will also be able to tell us whether you might benefit from some medical treatment, like physiotherapy or maybe an MRI scan to fully assess the injury you have sustained. We can often arrange this treatment for you on a private basis – the cost of which we will seek to recover from the other side as part of your claim. We would always recommend that you wait until you are fully recovered before settling your claim and we will do everything we can to help you achieve this. It might be that you need to see the doctor again, this can be arranged. It might be that you need more physiotherapy or an x-ray – again we can arrange all this for you. Your well-being comes first. However, we recognise that some people would rather see their claim settle quickly so they can move on. We have settled personal injury claims in as little as two weeks! Just speak to us and tell us how you want your claim to be run. We are here to act on your behalf and we will always take the time to speak to our clients and advise them, in plain English, what their options are.

What will it cost me?

We run claims on a completely “No Win No Fee” basis. If you don’t win your claim, we don’t charge you a penny.

What about if the other party in an accident is uninsured, or they fled the scene of the accident?

Again, we can help you. We will liaise on your behalf with the MIB (the Motor Insurers Bureau) which is a government organisation set up to compensate the victims of uninsured or untraced motorists. Your claim will still be run on a completely “No Win No Fee” basis so you have nothing to lose.
